Ariel Cinnamon Swirl Cake

With a 50% coupon on bake ware from Michaels it was definite I would be purchasing something for my next yummy creation.

My daughter loves Ariel so I bought an Ariel pan and decided to duplicate a Cinnamon Swirl cupcake (from scratch) I previously ate. Before baking I place cinnamon and brown sugar on top of the batter (already poured in pan)...BEST IDEA EVER!!!!

Duplicating the cake to resemble the Ariel picture was quite interesting. I used black icing first to define the drawing then I used Whipped Butter cream icing instead of regular vanilla icing which proved difficult when pipping. Because of the smooth form of the icing it wouldn't hold the small pipe shapes very well, so I had to improvise and just keep it moving.

I still think it came out very well for my first time painting a face with icing lol. (however I was scared to draw the nose smh).

  1. I tasted a halloween inspired "skeleton" double chocolate cupcake, I was pleasantly surprised! I usually won't eat cupcakes, but now I'm "craving" another one. You deserve the name "Tasty Cravings." I will be contacting you to order my son's birthday (cup)cake. :)
